IRS Tax Debt Resolution is an intricate strategic process

Audits and Examinations

  1. An IRS audit is a review/examination of an organization's or individual's  tax accounts and financial information to ensure information is reported correctly according to the tax laws and to verify the reported amount of tax is correct.
  2.  All of these Audits and examinations are important you don't want to face them along. Remember as a taxpayer you have a Tax Payer Bill of Rights.

There are basically 3 types of Audits and Examinations

  1. A Correspondence Audit – This is the simplest type of audit. It is usually conducted by mail or fax.
  2. An Office Audit – Office audits are slightly more complicated you will need to meet with an IRS representative in their office.
  3. A Field Audit – Field audits are the most complicated of them all. With a field audit, an IRS agent comes to your door or the door of your tax professional. .
